Mayor Don Trinks

Mayor Donald Trinks

Mayor Trinks is a lifelong resident of Windsor and was elected mayor in 2001. He first was elected to the Town Council in 1995.

Don is a tireless volunteer. A member of the Windsor Jaycees for 20 years, he also served as president of the organization in 1989 and 1998. He was named Jaycee of the Year in 1989 and 2001. He is a seven time Shad Derby Chair, is Past president for the Board of Directors for the Capital Area Substance Abuse Council, is Past Chairman of the Housing Committee of the Capital Region Council of Governments, and was a supernumerary Windsor Police officer. He is also a member of the Bradley Airport Community Advisory Board and a member of the Capital Region Workforce Development Board.

Mayor Trinks' latest endeavor is revitalizing Windsor landmark Barts restaurant, where he is co-owner and Manager. He has a B.S. in Sociology/Criminal Justice from the University of Hartford.

Councilman Al Simon

Deputy Mayor Al Simon

Al has lived in Windsor since 1989 and has served on the Town Council since 1999. He is the Chair of the Council's Finance Committee and member of the Special Projects Committee.

When not working in his job as the Director of Business Development and Retention for a local auto dealer, Al volunteers as a coach for the Windsor American Little League, is a member of the Clover Street School PTA, Windsor High School PTSA, and a former V.I.S.T.A volunteer.

Before holding office, Al was an active citizen, organizing campaigns to support town budgets and the High School renovation project. He served as Chairman of Windsor Issues Forum, which educated citizens on issues, and organized activities to increase involvement in local government.

Councilman Bill Herzfeld

Councilman Bill Herzfeld

Bill has been a member of the Windsor Town Council since 2005. He currently chairs the Special Projects Committee, is a member of the Finance Committee and the Joint Council / BOE Committee. Formerly, Bill served on the Windsor Board of Education from 1995-2005. While on the Board, he served as the Board's Vice President from 1999-2001, as well as Board Secretary, Parliamentarian and chair of the Finance Committee.

Bill is a 1970 graduate from Bloomfield High School and has lived in Windsor since 1989. He is married to Michele and has one son who is a Windsor High School graduate.

He is self-employed as a metal artist and is the owner of Eclectic Wonders website. His work is displayed in galleries through the northeast. Bill is a member of the Windsor Chamber of Commerce.

Matt Marci

Councilwoman Cathy Moreton

Matt is the owner of Windsor Optical,. located in the center of town and has been involved in the family business since it was established in 1970.  He graduated Windsor High School in 1986 and went to Middlesex Community College and has an Optical License.

As an engaged member of the Windsor Community Matt has serves as a member of the Windsor Fire Dept since 1986, retiring as lieutenant this year. He received a citation in 1991 from the town of Windsor for saving a woman from a house fire on Park Ave.

Randy McKenney

Councilman Randy McKenney

Randy McKenney works for the State of Connecticut in the Department of Social Services as a  Special Projects Manager.  He attended Harford Schools and is currently attending Charter Oak College.  Since he moved to Windsor in 1994 he has served on the Aging and Handicapped Commission and for the last 5 years, the Conversations on Race Committee. This committee is sponsored by the Human Relations Commission and the National Conference for Community and Justice and during this past year he chaired the committee.

Randy has coached girls basketball and little league baseball.  He is a member of the Sage Park Middle School and the Windsor High School PTO.  For 10 years he has participated as a Big Brother with the Nutmeg Big Brothers/Big Sisters and he currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Board of Education Services for the Blind.

He has 5 children - 2 currently in the Windsor School system - a son at Sage Park and a daughter at the High School and a daughter that graduated from Windsor High, 2 of his other children have graduated from college.

He served as a local union president for 3 years. (AFSCME Local 714) and  received the Governors Service Award twice. 1999 and 2001.
